چکیده

Abstract Background The Khapra beetle, Trogoderma granarium (Everts) (Coleoptera: Dermestidae) is one of the most destructive pests stored wheat and barley worldwide. broad practice insecticides has been connected with insect resistance development coupled renaissance treated primary insects, environmental contamination, toxicity to animals, man other non-target organisms. These harms have invigorated usage alternative methods managing this pest. Results For biocontrol potential, four species entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) were tested: Steinernema pakistanense PCSIR-10, S. bifurcatum PCSIR-39, saimkayai PCSIR-6 abbasi PCSIR-17, against adult larval stages beetle under laboratory conditions. At 250 IJs/ml, caused 100 90% at 92 89% beetles, respectively. Conclusion This study documented that EPNs had a potential control grain pest could be utilized as alternatives insecticides, which provide an adequate postharvest stage, but in future more experiment will required commercial storage

Invader Competition with Local Competitors: Displacement or Coexistence among the Invasive Khapra Beetle, Trogoderma granarium Everts (Coleoptera: Dermestidae), and Two Other Major Stored-Grain Beetles?

Local potential competitor species are important determinants of the invasibility of an environment even when widely recognized invasive species are concerned since it may compromise its establishment. Thus, the outcome of the direct competition among the invasive khapra beetle, Trogoderma granarium, and the cosmopolitan species lesser grain borer, Rhyzopertha dominica and rice weevil, Sitophil...

The effect of n 2.5% concentration by weight of lricalcium phosphate in a wheat genn diet on the demographic parameters (life table) of the khapra beetle, Trogoderma grallarium Everts, was investigated. This sublethal concent.ration of tricalcium phosphate, a known insect population suppressant for many slored-product insect and mite species. caused no significant changes in either the intrinsi...

Naturally Occurring Entomopathogenic Fungi Infecting Stored Grain Insect Species in Punjab, Pakistan

The occurrence of entomopathogenic fungi isolated from stored grain insect pests sampled from various geographical regions of Punjab, Pakistan, was investigated. In total, 25,720 insects from six different species were evaluated, and 195 isolates from 24 different fungal species were recovered. These included the Ascomycetes Beauveria bassiana sensu lato (Balsamo) Vuillemin (Hypocreales: Clavic...

The anti-feedant and growth inhibitory effects of seed extracts of custard apple in hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol were tested against neonate and 7 days old larvae of the Khapra beetle, Trogoderma granarium, using a feeding bioassay. The LC50 values for hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts were 1195.41, 305.36 and 1446.32 ppm for neonate larvae; 5805, 1300 and 5815 ppm for 7 days ol...
